RUMBA DEL FIN DEL MUNDO

I like to move around, and I'm unbelievably good at it. Apparently I’ve been like this since childhood – I was carried, shaken, rocked, and felt best when driven along a cobblestone road, when my infant head bounced off the car walls…

PASO DE JAMA 🇦🇷 / 🇨🇱

The Paso de Jama pass connects (or separates ;) the Argentine Ruta Nacional 52 with Ruta CH-27 in Chile. From 4320m a.s.l. you descend sharply, literally and figuratively, into the Chilean side, cutting together with caravans of 10km/h trucks through the Atacama, solar farms and volcanic ranges all the way to the popular desert town with that loose-but-stiff vibe – San Pedro de Atacama.

ŁOSIOŁ 🇪🇹

Episodes from this (fantastic, of course ;) film, which essentially became a de-urbanisation music video, were shot in Africa, in the Omo River Valley, and also around and in the town of Shashamane, during a meeting with one of the last relatively wild tribes – the Mursi.

CAMINO DE LOS YUNGAS 🇧🇴

That’s how it is — what excites me most is the road itself. The very fact of being on the road is enough for me to feel alive, and when the road is packed from start to finish with wows, views, cliffs and waterfalls hitting you in the head, then you can truly go mad — and that happened to me one fine day in the Bolivian Andes...

(G)OVERWALKING

If there are still, somewhere in the so-called third world… state borders wrapped in barbed wire, then luckily for me, a European, these are just vague images of distant pathologies. I feel peace and pride because I live in a free Europe. I have the Schengen area — and I know that this idea, created to cement unity and highlight shared European values, will endure any time, even the greatest test of human solidarity.

PROVINCIAL ROUTES 83+73 🇦🇷

Few people, even among Argentines themselves, know that to fully enjoy the entire eastern cross-section of the Andes, you absolutely don’t need to embark on Bolivia’s Camino de los Yungas. You can get an Andean shot in just 1–2 days right here, in Argentina.

PARALLEL 42 S 🇦🇷

When it comes to the Southern Hemisphere, the 42nd — maybe 43rd — parallel (S, of course) has so far turned out to be the southern barrier I still have no desire to cross, but I feel I’ve already learned almost everything north of it….

A R T

I recommend drawing. Especially a specific kind, when we draw without giving our work any convention beforehand ;) I like to draw like this, without much control, planning, or tension, evoking who knows what… - hidden dimensions of being? Maybe I bring them to the surface, giving myself the chance to release them.

LAS PIRCAS NEGRAS 🇦🇷 / 🇨🇱

The route to Paso de Pircas Negras goes through the Chilean routes C359/C33 (CHILE), partly in poor condition but passable as it is maintained for border mines. As this is one of the most picturesque areas of the Andes, along the way you’ll see spectacular volcanoes, deserts, sand, wild horses, all painted with a saturated yellow-orange palette.

LIVING BORDER 🇵🇹 / 🇪🇸

If someone wants to hide away and have peace with everything, it’s hard to find a better place in Europe than the Portuguese border. I spent a lot of time there, amazed at how easily I could reach my favorite state of consciousness. Why there and not elsewhere? Maybe because that border has been largely left alone. It is free. Few people think of organizing anything there… The brilliant minds of the world fortunately unleash their intellect elsewhere.

HISPANIOLA - DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 🇩🇴

Between Europe and America, as the better-informed surely know, there is a bit of water… and on it, surprises like—ta-dam! The island of Hispaniola and on it—Dominican Republic. I was taken there by Mariano Barroso and Salma Hayek with the colorful and magical film "In the Time of the Butterflies" — bright greens, oranges, beaches, mountains… a relaxed African vibe in America. All of it, maybe except Salma Hayek, is still there!

DIUNA 🇦🇷

One of my favorite destinations and a reason to start the jeep for a long trip. It’s a demanding region with dozens or even hundreds of kilometers of difficult terrain between urban points. It differs from other earthly climates in almost everything. It’s like an area outside the world, completely from another planet. Partially passable dirt roads, often above 4000m. Deserts, salt flats, and towering volcanic peaks almost reaching 7000m (Ojos del Salado — 6893m, highest active volcano on Earth). It’s just you, the horizon, and raw, overwhelming space. The energy flowing from ridges, volcano cones, and other strange places charges directly into your brain via an invisible broadband link.

ANDES ENTRIES 🇦🇷

A few loose videos recorded while climbing Andean peaks. Mainly from Argentina but not exclusively. I deliberately omit additional commentary so the videos speak for themselves...

CAPRICORNOS 🇦🇷

The Tropic of Capricorn is the perfect latitude for me. Here I feel optimal. It happens to pass near the village of Tilcara, which I know very well, right through the center of the Argentine province of Jujuy. Tiny, charming, mountainous Jujuy is the northernmost part of the country, nestled between Chile and Bolivia, Argentina’s numero uno in diversity…
